The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur, has called for increased investment, technical expertise and strategic partnerships to turn Ghana’s economic opportunities into productive businesses, stronger industries and higher export earnings.
He said Ghana’s natural resources and business opportunities could generate greater economic value if they were supported by the right investments, skills and partnerships.
Mr Arthur made the remarks at the launch of the Invest Ghana Summit 2026 and the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards, organised by the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA).
Investment partnerships seen as key to growth
According to Mr Arthur, the summit will provide a platform for investors and businesses to connect, explore opportunities and develop partnerships that could translate into actual investment decisions.
He stressed the importance of moving beyond interest in Ghana’s economic potential to investments that create productive activity, strengthen businesses and support the development of new industries.
For Ghana, attracting investment into productive sectors could also help expand export capacity and create opportunities for local businesses to reach new markets.
AfCFTA presents opportunities for Ghanaian exporters
Mr Arthur said the initiative aligns with GEPA’s efforts to increase Ghana’s exports and maximise opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The continental trade agreement provides a framework for expanding trade among African countries, creating opportunities for businesses that can compete on price, quality and supply capacity.
He said stakeholders would now focus on building on the interest generated by the launch ahead of the main summit in November.
Summit scheduled for November
The Invest Ghana Summit 2026 and the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards are scheduled for November 16 and 17, 2026, respectively.
The events are expected to bring together businesses and investors to explore investment opportunities and strengthen partnerships that could support Ghana’s economic development.
