Dr Wilberforce Sefakor Dzisah
Students of Keta Senior High Technical School (Ketasco) have been encouraged to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a tool to connect the past to the future, fostering development and quality education.
Speaking at a public lecture marking Ketasco’s 72nd anniversary, Dr. Wilberforce Sefakor Dzisah, a Senior Lecturer at GIMPA, highlighted AI’s capabilities in data processing, machine learning, interactive simulations, and personalized learning experiences.
AI as a Key to Future Readiness
Dr. Dzisah emphasized that AI-powered tools can help students develop skills in coding, data science, and problem-solving, essential for the modern workforce. He noted that integrating AI into the school curriculum would expose students to cutting-edge technologies, making them more competitive in the job market.
On the part of teachers, AI can automate grading systems, provide immediate feedback, and free up time for interactive teaching rather than administrative tasks.
Harnessing AI for National Development
Dr. Dzisah urged students to learn from the heroic struggles and successes of their predecessors, embrace the present, and break new barriers using AI as a tool for progress and innovation.
“Ketasco must meet the challenges of history by incorporating AI into education while using it to solve human shortcomings that hinder quality learning,” he stated.
He further encouraged students to use AI responsibly, ensuring that its application advances humanity rather than just technology.
A Call to Action for Alumni & Students
Dr. Dzisah called on past and present students to continue supporting Ketasco in its pursuit of excellence and national development.
The lecture, which took place at Ketasco Park on February 21, was part of activities leading up to the main anniversary durbar. The event was powered by the 1975, 1985, 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2015 year groups.
Excited students who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) expressed gratitude for the insights gained and promised to apply AI-driven knowledge to secure a brighter future.
